Stand-Up Paddleboarding — The Easy Way

Man sigting on stand-up paddleboard in a rocking chairI wrote a post recently about the stand-up paddleboarding class I took this summer and how, although my legs quivered the whole time, I finally was able to paddle for an hour without plunging into the water.

My friend C’s dad, Mr. D., who has always been an amazing extreme athlete (a bungee-jumping, rafting-in-the-rapids, jumping-out-of-an-airplane type of guy), enjoyed paddleboarding an easier way this summer. His grandsons attached a rocking chair to the board, and the octogenarian paddled away!

Looks like fun, doesn’t it?

  1. Living so close to the ocean I have always enjoyed paddle boarding. I have had a lot of injuries in the last few years that have prevented me from enjoying it but I love this idea of the rocking chair. May just have to talk my hubby into helping me out with that one.

He’s always been an incredible athlete and did sports that seemed terrifying to me. My friend, his daughter, is the same — she’s done about everything. (I just like to hear stories about their adventures!)

That’s my crazy, fun-loving Dad. We just returned from celebrating his 60th anniversary married to my equally adventurous Mom. Party was one mile up a dirt road around a campfire. We dressed in formal wear. They continue to inspire me.

  5. Awesome! This is how I want to roll.
