See the USA and Create a Map of All The Places You’ve Been

Fun, Free Activity and Conversation Starterfor Family and Friends

The next time you’re sitting around with family and friends, pull up this website for an entertaining activity and a great conversation starter. It’s fun and it doesn’t cost a cent!

Put this address in your browser and ask the other person to name all the states he or she has visited. The answers may be a real eye-opener — and they’ll get the conversation flowing for everyone from your child to your grandpa.

As the person names states, click a button for each one and watch the color fill that state’s outline to create a personalized “states visited” map! It can even be shared on Facebook or Twitter by clicking a button.

This activity is sure to lead to reminiscing about trips of the past and entertaining travel stories (favorite places, fond memories, missed planes, favorite restaurants, lost luggage, etc.).

You can also:

  1. Discuss your favorite cities and list the top three.
  2. Decide which state is your favorite.
  3. Make a list of places you want to go.
  4. Make a list of places you don’t want to go.

The possibilities are endless.

Who knows? This little exercise might even determine the site of your next vacation or weekend get-away!

Here are the places I’ve been and my custom map (below).  Apparently, I need to head west of the Mississippi and visit about 20 states…

I’d honestly been going to Google and see if anything like that existed because I thought it’d be fun to do next time I visit my family. And there it was on a friend’s Facebook page!
