I wrote my first guest blog post — about the great time I have going on cruises alone. It was published Sun., July 3 on Too Timid and Squeamish, an inspiring and amusing blog that I read often. Check it out and let me know what you think!

It’s funny to think of the strange social rules, like not dining or traveling alone or being alone on a Friday night, that keep us from enjoying any ME time. I attribute it a bit to the fact that our country favors extroverted behavior as opposed to introverted. Way to subvert the norm!
Maybe that’s it. I never went to a movie alone until the past few years, then found out that a lot of people I know do that.
Wonderful adventures can be had alone. You could be totally free to be, anyone you felt like being. ‘What happens on the cruise ship, stays on the cruise ship’, makes me consider that the fun was exquisite!

I’ve really enjoyed traveling on my own. The idea of being on a cruise would make me nervous because it’s the SAME people to run into over and over. For me, that takes away part of the beauty of solo travel. I’ll check out your take.
